John ConyersCongressmen John Conyers (D-MI) has stated that he will be introducing a Constitutional Amendment that will state that Health Care is a right guaranteed by the Constitution and the government will be forced to provide a plan.

This isn’t a new idea sports fans.  FDR had the same idea with his second Bill of Rights in which he stated that you had a right to a job, house and education.  I will be adding a clip of that speech very soon.  I find it extremely troubling that the only time that most of these politicians talk about the Constitution is when they are wanting to change it.

In case there is any confusion, I will clear up  the issue for you.  No, the Constitution does NOT guarantee you a right to healthcare.  Just like it doesn’t guarantee you a right to be happy, sad, rich, or poor.  It says you have a right to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”  The results are up to you, not the government.

I recently finished Glenn Beck’s new book Common Sense, inspired by Thomas Paine’s work of the same title.  Not to be too excessive but simply put – OUTSTANDING!

It is a very short read.  I know many of you don’t do a lot of reading and most certainly wouldn’t take the time to read something as political as this, however, you need to.  Mr. Beck is very fond of talking about Common Sense and how many American’s aren’t showing any with their voting habits.  This book is a small glimpse into what he thinks America needs to do to get back to showing some common sense.

Take the time to read this great book.  It will open your eyes to how far YOUR government has strayed and what we need to do to take it back.

Someone needs to wake up everyone in Minnesota and let them know that they just elected Al Freakin’ Franken to the Senate of the United States.  I like Eddie Murphy.  I especially liked him in his prime days of Gumby, Alfalpha, Mr. Robinson’s Neighborhood…You know, when Saturday Night Live was funny.  I don’t want him as a Senator, however.

I am dumbfounded that the Leftards of this country continue to act so stupid.  The intellectually superior, liberal thinkers have elected a SNL character actor to the Senate.  His status as a celebrity does not disqualify him to run for public office but please, Senator.  Couldn’t Minnesota started with neighborhood PTA crosswalk coordinator or something like that?

Another sad day in America.  Sad, sad, sad.

For all of the populus people out there that think the government is doing a good thing by taxing the AIG execs that are receiving a bonus, let me pose a question:

What if they decide they want your bonuses/pay?  Impossible, you say?  Why is that?  We have experienced a Congress that has passed a TARGETED tax at a specific group of US Citizens that are receiving compensation from a CONTRACT.  EX POST FACT!!!!

The Constitution specifically prohibits Congress from passing legislation that targets a specific group of people.  (Recall, if you will the Poll taxes that used to be levied to prevent blacks from voting in election.)  This is no different.  Where has the Constitution gone?  As you sit around today and watch the news, have a cup of coffee (pick your favorite activity) think about what YOUR Government is taking away today.  It might not affect you today…But, there is always tomorrow.

Rich business men and women aren’t your enemy.  If you thought you were for this, stop a second and think about the possible implications for your country.
