I am sick and tired of reading and watching the news and finding out that our elected officials are tax cheats. The Secretary of the Treasury, Timothy Geithner didn’t pay over $40,000 in taxes and he would have gotten away with it if it hadn’t came up during his conformation hearing. Tom Daschle, didn’t pay his taxes. Charlie Wrangle, didn’t pay his taxes. The list goes on and on.
As our government continues to lobby that the rich in our country need to pay more taxes, our economy continues to decline. It isn’t important that the top 1% of income earners in the United States pay 40.4% of the American tax burden. 1% of the population paying that much of the burden and the government wants more. I know, I know. Some of you think that is OK because it doesn’t’ affect you. I’m mean, why should you care? Your not rich. Of course, we need to consider what “rich” means. Right now you may not be effected but you might be.
Every time that the government creates another program, we pay for it. If you think taking the money from rich people is Ok and giving it to the poor then you are a Socialist. That is fundamental socialism, plan and simple. It’s Ok. You can be a socialist and be a Senator. Bernie Sanders from Vermont is openly a Socialist and he is in the Senate. Its Ok. I would rather you come out and just say it than try to convince those of us that believe in Capitalism, small government, and fiscal responsibility are wrong and hate poor people.
A final thought. What would happen if you didn’t pay your taxes? Would you go to jail? Of course you would. Why is it Ok that our representatives/politicians get away with it? Control-Alt-Delete. Fire them all.

The following is a good breakdown of the tax increases planned for the upper income brackets. He wants to combine policies from the Reagan and Clinton administrations to squeeze high income earners even more, while being able to throw Reagan’s name around.
Also, if charitable contributions are taxed at a higher rate, contributions to schools, churches, and other community organizations will not receive the funding that they have in the past. Many very wealthy are extremely charitable, as they would rather support local causes than send tax money to Washington.
