You know, I’m all for conserving and taking care of the environment but come on!? ”Our” collective need for soft toilet paper is apparently destroying our environment. What about all of those people who drive SUV’s and have emergency kits in the back with soft toilet paper in the them. Oh dear God, NO!!!!
If this is as big of a problem that the article claims it to be then the Government needs to take action. Where is the outcry for the toilet paper industry? Where? Why has this not been addressed in the “Stimulus” package? Wait a minute…Maybe it was and it just hasn’t been found yet. Everyone knows that none of our so called leaders in Washington have actually read it. Does the TP industry have lobbyists?
As for me and my family….”Give me Soft Toilet Paper or Give me Death!”

So what about the new adult “butt wipes”? What are they causing? They are thicker and moisturized. Are they killing our environment as well?
I draw my limit at my recycle, earth friendly lifestyle with toilet paper. I am not giving up soft or NEW, non-recycled toilet paper. That is just nasty. Way too unsanitary. As for the soft part, well…they must have never had an bowel issues, that’s all I can say. One good day visiting the crapper & they would change their minds. I bet they all use the adult “butt wipes”.
That is the problem with the government stepping into matter that are not of their concern…every one then wants a piece. There just isn’t enough to go around. They can’t take on the TP issues too, then they would have to wipe up their crap!
Good catch. There was a similar article in the New York Times earlier this week. Don’t worry, they are distributed for free on campus, I didn’t pay money for it.

So I was thinking as I was using a restuarant’s restroom the other day…
It is not my soft toilet paper that is killing off trees, it is the thinner than rice paper toilet paper that is killing trees! As a woman, I first have to layer the seat with this rice paper thin TP & then I have to get this big, huge, wade…because most the time you can’t get the dang stuff off or out of the giant rolls without it breaking off first, just to wipe & guarantee that my hand is still dry after wiping.
I use more TP in public & corporate locations than I do with my soft TP at home! If someone wanted to argue over TP then they should consider the time & money it takes to compost TP over plastic! OH WAIT! It is a natural substance…it breaks down easily! Right…so there really is no argument here, just someone trying to distract us with stupidity again! Great!
